What Weighbench is
Weighbench is a set of free calculators that do food-preparation arithmetic by weight: baking percentages, salt for ferments and brines, and similar. The results and the notes around them are general information. They aren't professional food-safety, nutrition or legal advice, and they don't replace a tested recipe or the instructions on a product's label.
What's up to you
- Check what you enter. A result is only as good as the weights and percentages you put in.
- Weigh on a scale suited to the amount, especially for small quantities.
- Follow a tested recipe for anything you'll eat, and use your own judgement.
- Read the label of the product you actually use. Blends and strengths vary between brands.
- Follow the food-safety rules where you live, which may differ from the sources we cite.
Accuracy
We work hard to get the numbers right: the calculations are tested, and we cite the sources behind them on Sources & methods. But we can't promise the site is free of errors, complete, up to date or always available, and sources and regulations change. The site is provided as it is.
Our responsibility
As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss, damage or harm that comes from using the site or relying on its results.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that can't lawfully be excluded.
Links to other sites
We link to sources and other sites we don't control. We aren't responsible for their content, and a link isn't an endorsement of us by them.
Using our content
The site's text, design and code belong to Weighbench. You're welcome to use the results for your own cooking and to share links to any page.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site means you accept the current version.
